The Highlights Wilderness Preserved

Andros’ vast National Park System makes the island a true ecotourism jewel. Among the island’s five parks, The West Side National Park protects 1.5 million acres of pristine Andros wilderness. To the east, The North & South Marine Parks protect 8,500 acres of the Andros Barrier Reef.

The Highlights Blue Holes To Choose From

Andros has more than 180 blue holes found inland and along its shore – the highest concentration of these geological wonders found anywhere in the world. Captain Bill’s Blue Hole, in Blue Holes National Park, is one of the most easily accessible to visitors with an Interpretative Birding Trail designed by the Audubon Society.

The Highlights The World’s 3rd Largest Barrier Reef

The Andros Barrier Reef is 190 miles long (306 km). It trails the island’s eastern coast before plunging more than 6,000 feet (1.83 km) into the Tongue of the Ocean. The coral growth remains lush, colourful and healthy, a once-in-a-lifetime kind of dive.

Located near Congo Town, South Andros Airport serves the southernmost part of Andros Island with domestic flights via Nassau.

Located just outside of Nicholls Town in North Andros, San Andros Airport has domestic commercial services and international charter flights.

The southernmost area of Andros is reachable by international and domestic commercial flights via Nassau, as well as the weekly mail boat. The region's settlements trail the eastern coast.

North Andros is separated from Central Andros by creeks and flats stocked with bonefish. It is reachable by ferry and mailboat via Nassau, or by air through San Andros Airport.

The largest settlement of Central Andros is Fresh Creek, reachable by air via Andros Town International Airport and daily ferry service from Nassau.

Technically part of South Andros, quiet Mangrove Cay is well known amongst fly fishermen. Its capital, Moxey Town, is located on the island’s east coast.
