The Queen’s Staircase (66 steps)
This venue is a beauty and definitely a top one on our list. The Queen’s Staircase, also known as the 66 Steps (although only 65 are visible), is a hand-carved staircase built between 1793 and 1794. The staircase, which was built by 600 slaves, was strategically placed to provide an escape route between Fort Fincastle and the city of Nassau. The steps were later named in honor of Queen Victoria, who abolished slavery during her 64-year reign from 1837 to 1901. Today, this very popular attraction is nestled away in a breath-taking grotto filled with gorgeous tropical fauna and waterfalls, which makes it a perfect scene for a fabulous island wedding your guests will never forget.

The Cloisters
This one is a destination wedding favorite and for very, very good reason. This venue, located on the One & Only Ocean Club property, is easy to fall in love with at first sight. It has amazing architecture, gorgeous gardens and breath-taking views. I mean, what’s not to love? The old European ruins, which were imported from a 14th century French monastery, are surrounded by tropical flowers and trees such as purple blooming bougainvillea and lush palm trees. It is truly a unique backdrop that will offer your guests a spectacular experience they will take home with them.

Known for its history and present-day event grounds, Fort Charlotte is a beacon of Bahamian history and a wedding venue option that is definitely worth exploring. Built in 1788 by Lord Dunmore and named after the wife of King George III, Queen Saharia Charlotte, this interesting venue has ravishing views of the Nassau Harbour. With dungeons, underground passageways and cannons on property, your photographer will have countless backdrops to capture the history, beauty and uniqueness of the island.
