bmot eleuthera a tale two islands

A Tale of Two Islands

Harbour Island is a quaint, seaside town with storied New England-style architecture. Eleuthera is a sprawling stretch of wild beauty. All that separates them is a five-minute ferry across sky-blue waters. Make no mistake; you visit one, you’ll want to visit the other.

The Lay Of The Land

Located 60 miles east of Nassau, Eleuthera and Harbour Island are surrounded by clusters of cays and sandbars. Spanish Wells stands out as one of the destination’s best kept secrets.

Eleuthera

A pencil-thin island with 210 miles of coastline, Eleuthera is the largest of the group, and the gateway for travellers arriving by air. Three airports service Eleuthera: North Eleuthera Airport, Governor's Harbour Airport, and the Rock Sound Airport.

Harbour Island

Once the capital of The Bahamas, Harbour Island is often called the “Nantucket of the Caribbean” but locals just call it “Briland.” Accessible only by boat or ferry, the seclusion is what makes Harbour Island so special.

Spanish Wells

A short ferry ride from mainland Eleuthera brings you to this quiet town on St. George's Cay. Spanish Wells feels like a fishing village plucked from the New England coast - right down to the bustling dock where local fishermen haul in their lobster catch.
