This tour consists of leisurely walking through a field about 1/4 mile long (about 40 minutes) as you enjoy the simple beauty, sunshine, the breathtaking views of the pineapple farm and the historic Hatchet Bay Silos (cylindrical structures); built in the 1930s to store food for the animals from the Levy Farms / Hatchet Bay Plantation.
Although the pineapple fruit is seasonal, you will have the experience of a lifetime as a professional tour guide takes you through a short history of the pineapple industry in Eleuthera, the complete growing cycle, and cultivation techniques of our world-renowned Sugar Loaf sweet Eleuthera pineapple.
You will also enjoy the ultimate experience of planting your own Eleuthera pineapple plant as a group or individual volunteer. As the tour continues you will be able to see our vegetable garden and our tropical fruit orchard that includes banana, sugarcane, papaya, or whatever is in season during your visit. You are welcome to ask any questions during the tour and you are allowed to take photos on the farm.
Tours available from 9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. Sunday Friday. Closed on Saturday. Reservations must be made at least 1 day in advance for non-cruise passengers and two days in advance for cruise passengers.
