Built in 1836 by the British Imperial Lighthouse Service and named after its geological formation, this lighthouse is known as one of the oldest lighthouses in The Bahamas and was the first lighthouse built in The Abacos. Today, the original mechanism of the lighthouse has been dismantled and it is now operated automatically without a lighthouse keeper. The scenery at the Hole in the Wall Lighthouse is unlike anywhere in The Abacos. It is located 55 miles south of Marsh Harbour by ground transportation and is open for visits seven days a week.
