The Bahamas Delegation Poised for Success at ITB Berlin 2025
NASSAU, Bahamas, 5 March. 2025 – The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) is making a strong impact at the International Tourism Exchange Berlin (ITB) 2025, the world’s largest travel trade show, taking place from March 5th to 7th.
BMOTIA Director General Latia Duncombe is leading The Bahamas’ delegation, which includes key industry partners such as the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, Majestic Holidays, and Warwick Paradise Island. Together, they are engaging with travel trade professionals, strengthening business relationships, and exploring new opportunities to expand The Bahamas’ presence in the European market.
“ITB Berlin is a key platform for The Bahamas to deepen relationships with our international partners and expand our reach within the European market,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation the Hon. I. Chester Cooper. “Our presence at this year’s event underscores our commitment to strengthening airlift, increasing visitor arrivals, and showcasing the unique cultural experiences that set The Bahamas apart.”
“ITB remains one of the most important stages for us to showcase The Bahamas to the world,” said Director General Duncombe. “This year, our participation is focused on forging meaningful partnerships, driving new business, and ensuring The Bahamas remains a top-of-mind destination for European travellers.”
ITB Berlin serves as a premier platform for over 10,000 exhibitors representing destinations, tour operators, booking systems, transport providers, and hotels. Over the course of three days, The Bahamas delegation is participating in a series of high-level meetings with major global tour operators, luxury travel specialists, and European air carriers to explore potential airlift opportunities and customized travel packages for The Islands of The Bahamas.
This year, The Bahamas' presence at ITB culminates in Bahamas Night, a special event marking the 50th anniversary of the People-to-People Programme. This long-standing initiative has fostered meaningful exchanges between Bahamians and visitors, creating deeper cultural ties and enhancing the visitor experience.
“The People-to-People Programme is a shining example of Bahamian hospitality, fostering authentic connections with our people that leave a lasting impact on our visitors,’’ said Director General Duncombe. “Celebrating its 50th anniversary at ITB highlights the essence of The Bahamas- beyond our breathtaking landscapes, it’s the people and the culture that truly set us apart.”
Bahamas Night welcomes trade and media partners to an immersive experience showcasing the vibrant spirit of The Bahamas. Attendees will enjoy an evening filled with Bahamian hospitality, featuring cultural performances, music, and a visual presentation highlighting the breathtaking waters of The Bahamas.
Through ITB and Bahamas Night, The Bahamas aims to strengthen its global brand, foster deeper engagement with international partners, and expand its reach within the European travel market.
